2008 Chardonnay Willamette Valley
With a delicate, shimmering golden hue, Emerson Vineyards 2008 Willamette Valley Chardonnay is a food-friendly wine in the style of a great white Burgundy.
Aromas of apple, vanilla, and honeysuckle lead to a palate which is creamy yet crispy, offering flavors of pear, honey crisp apple, and spice with underpinnings of flinty minerality. Restrained use of oak and fresh acidity join this wine with others in a new breed of West Coast Chardonnays that emphasize complexity, structure, and restraint.
Pair with halibut, roast chicken, or pasta with cream sauce.
In May of 2010 this wine was awarded the Grand Award of Excellence “Double Gold” at the Oregon Wine Awards.
